Do you know what gatchapon are?
Gatchapon are small toys sold in capsule machines, which originate in Japan. It's called gatchapon because of the 'gatcha gatcha' sound when you turn the handle, and the 'pon' is the sound made when the toy capsule falls down out of the machine.
I have loved little toys and trinkets from Japan since I was a small child, and my daughter Ana has become obsessed with gatchapon too!
This is the first piece of the collection - 'Gatchapon!'. A fun statement piece designed as a sweet little Gatchapon machine. And it has moving parts!! Inside the clear window you can see teeny gatchapon balls shaking around. And if you are lucky, you might receive a machine with a star inside! The star is a 'special capsule' that contains an ultra rare toy. Well that was what I was thinking when I was making the earrings ;)
The Gatchapon! dangles feature a clear base and frame, with a pink and blue base. Tiny clay circles and stars are inside the clear frame, which is finished with a pink and clear top, and a golden star sits at the top of the earring.
Each piece has been drawn by hand and converted into pieces of wearable art.
The earring measures 7.5cm in height. It is finished with a hypoallergenic stainless steel hoop.
Please note that while no pets are permitted in the sewing studio, there is a pet present in the house.
These earrings are READY TO POST. Please note if ordered with clothing, it will be sent with clothing.
